(Part 1 of 2. See Part 2 here. So here are things I’m told about the typical American white man:
- Stoic, suppresses emotions, thoughts and feelings. At least thoughts and feelings about himself and his life.
- Male vulnerability is perceived as male weakness, and it’s a majorly bad idea for a man to show weakness.
- When the going gets emotional, men get quiet. Cuz better to be quiet than you know, violent, or weepy, or out of control.
- Better talk like a ‘buddy’ or a ‘bro’ or get locked out of male relationships altogether.
I’m not going to argue with any of these perceptions. I’m not going to say they’re inevitably true, cuz no.
I’m just going to say there’s a reason for these perceptions. The reason is that the natural potential threat to any male person is another male person who is bigger, has more money, or has more status/authority.
The number one problem every male person has to solve in life is how to handle/get along with other men. Fail to solve that problem and your life gets so fucked words themselves fail. Which is a pretty good reason right there for not speaking your mind.
Fail to solve that problem and you become the Columbine school shooters, an incel, a mass murderer, incarcerated, dead at a young age, an abuser, an evil motherfucker, or just…. fucked.
Solve that problem and the world can be your oyster.
Fail to solve that problem and you’re dick-whipped.
The dick-whipping of American men, particularly American white men, particularly American white Southern men, is a proud tradition glamorized by the OG slaveholders and obscenely wealthy men of the colonies and then the Confederate states.
Did the slaveholders and wealthy men of the America actually get together and say to each other ‘Let’s see how we can ass-fuck every white man with less money than us!’
Yeah. Absolutely. They sure did. Still doing it. Southern institutionalized racism was never about keeping black people down. It was ALWAYS about ass-fucking white men who lacked obscene wealth.
Why? More of ’em.
More profitable to get the white man to submit than worry about the much smaller contingent of Black men.
Much, much more profitable.
Still is. The true goal of every economic policy the Republicans have pursued for the last 45 years is quite simply to drive the wages of white men down into non-existence. Effects on any other demographic group are just a bonus.
There’s been a tiny tip of the hat to the anti-white man agenda recently. The talking points about kicking ‘able-bodied’ men off Medicaid so America can put them to work in the fields. Picking crops. All those Latinos gonna be deported so you can pick crops bro.
If you believe your problem is immigrants you’re dick-whipped.
SO LET’S BREAK IT DOWN MEN
We need to start somewhere, so let’s begin with when rich Americans realized that by using free labor from Black slaves, they could pay white workers close to zippo.
Cool, cool, cool, cool. Except those fucking poor white folks getting all uppity and complaining that the rich whites lying to ’em and ripping them off and generally being motherfuckers.
So…what’s a devil in land-owning clothing to do? Kill some puppies and skin some kittens. Cuz even small children understand that what a powerful land-owner does to the helpless, they will do to you if they can get away with it.
The devil impresses upon people his utter willingness to engage in utter cruelty. He makes his victims watch that cruelty. And, crucially, have no power to intervene.
So hey, you watched as we whipped those black folks. You were silent as we mistreated others. You did nothing. You can’t complain now; you’re complicit in our evil. Your inaction has tainted your soul, and there’s no escaping it.
Pretty clever. Pretty effective. Bwah ha ha ha ha.
It was a good way to teach The Non-Elite Southern white man to shut up.
Got those white men saying ‘yes sir’ and ‘no ma’am’ to their ‘betters.’ Respecting authority and yielding to their lords and masters. Proud to submit to cops and keep their grievances out of riots. Suck it up white folks, cuz the way things are ain’t changing.
And if you try to change ’em poor white guy, they (the rich power holders) will FUCK YOU UP just like they fuck up the Black men, and that’ll be that. You dick-whipped.
In situations like that, declaring stoicism and silence virtues makes sense—it’s the only way to survive. The only things worth saying are filled with pain and rage. If you rage against those who yank your chains, what will they do?
Oh yeah, that’s it. They gonna do what they showed you they done to the Black folks: they gonna FUCK YOU UP.
During the Civil War, wealthy mofos avoided service while poor whites fought for their masters. And died: it’s said about a quarter of military-aged men in the South kicked the bucket.
Look, if rich motherfuckers are willing to let 25% of your white men die, they’re pretty much willing to do anything.
Even the Romans only killed 10 percent of the populations they overran – and it was known decimating the conquered.
Yeah, the rich, the so-called elites, no matter what party, don’t give a flying fuck about white men that aren’t part of their club. Barely worth spitting on.
Damn right, show no weakness. You are surrounded by enemies. Never admit to it; it’s too humiliating and reminds you of the fragile fiction of your existence. Reminds you of your overseers. Of those running your lives from across the tracks.
The fiction that they aren’t manipulating you. The fiction that they don’t control or belittle you. The fiction that you don’t have to follow their whims, even if you never see their faces.
That’s what ‘Don’t Tread on Me’ means these days. It means “I submit.”
It Means I’m a Boot-licking white man and I really need the fragile fiction that I’m not dick-whipped by the rich.
‘If the fiction doesn’t hold, I will kill myself.’ Cuz yeah. Rural white men are dying while wages decline. They’re working less with fewer opportunities, and more drugs, drinking, and guns.
Yeah, you think those gun manufacturers aren’t rich. Ha ha ha. Go ahead and off yourself poor white motherfucker, while they laugh all the way to bank. Cuz that’s what those guns get used for. Suicide.
So those white man conservative slogans don’t fool anybody. Don’t fool the rich. They hone right in on those despairing ‘conservatives’ for exploitation.
The elites ain’t fooled. Blacks ain’t fooled. You ain’t fooled either. Nor your friends and neighbors in the same boat.
What those slogans do though – and this is not a small thing – is let everyone know that you’re in pain and rage about your status, and that if you hadn’t had your balls chopped off when you were a youngster by some dick-whipping men in your life – oh what you’d do. It lets people know that you’re a victim and you know it.
That you deserve revenge and you desire it.
YOU DO DESERVE REVENGE.
